I spotted your James Grell biography at rootsweb.com for Scott County,
IA, and wondered if you had seen my Claus Grell query at the same web site.
My information says Claus came to join brothers, but we don't know names.
His first two children, Frank and Jessie, were born in Allen's Grove. Wonder
if you have better information? Meanwhile I'm going to look for the book
you mentioned, "History of Scott County, Iowa."

born: 8/21/1850, Kiel, Germany
emigrated: 1866, Davenport, IA (preceded by 2 bro., names unknown)
died: 5/25/1917, Chalco, NE (have copy of obit.)

married:
3/22/1873, Davenport,IA (there is IGI record at
familysearch.org for this marriage with surname spelled Schultz)

to:
Henriette Schulz
born: Dahme, Holstein, Germany 2/29/1852
emigrated: 5/1869 (near Davenport)
died: Sarpy County, NE 10/2/1927 (have copy of obit.)

children: Frank, Jessie (Grandmother), Caroline, Herman, Clara (IGI
birth records again for most at familysearch.org)

Family appears to have moved to NE by 1878

Have no other information except of course for information on my immediate
Grandparent's descendents. If this corresponds with any of your folks,
do you have more information?
