JOHN HENRY GOSCH, TRUCK GROWER, PASSED AWAY THIS MORNING

John Henry Gosch, well know truck grower, residing on the Waverly road,
died suddenly this morning at 7 o'clock from a stroke. He had gone to the
pasture early in the morning to get the cattle, and stopped at a well there,
where he was going to pull up a few pails of water to put in the tank there.
It was while he was bending over to do this that he suffered the stroke,
and fell down dead beside the cistern.
He was born at Ditmarschen, Germany, December 14, 1856, and came to America
and direct to Davenport in 1888. He was united in marriage to Miss Henrietta
Wiese of Davenport, and for 36 years the family has lived on the Waverly
Road.
Surviving are the wife, and the following children: Mrs. Katherine Doyle
Christiansen, Mrs. Bertha Workman, Mrs. Amanda Marty, and the Misses Anna
and Emma at home, and two grandchildren, Marguerite and Ambrose Doyle.
The remains were taken to the Runge mortuary and funeral arrangements will
be announced.
