BOY, 5 YEARS OF AGE, DIES OF DIPTHERIA

Raymond Edison Smith, Student in Buchanan School, Is Victim
Raymond Edison Smith, 5 year old son of Charles A. Smith, passed away at
the home of his father, 621 Lincoln Court at 9:30 o'clock Sunday evening
of diptheria, after an illness of only two days.
He was born July 2, 1918 in Davenport and attended the kindergarten at
the Buchanan school.
Surviving are his father, Chrles A. Smith, one sister, Mrs. D.W. Tholin,
four brothers, Charles, Lynn, Vern and Robert, all of Davenport. His mother
died in January of 1922.
Private funeral services were held from the home this afternoon at 2:30
o'clock. Interment was made in Oakdale Cemetery.
