I posted a reply once, but it must have been on a different board. This is what I have: Lewis Dyer and Cordelia Noble were married in Clayton Co. in Oct. 1852. According to their pension records it was the first marriage for both. All I know about Lewis is he was born in NY. He is on the Boardman, Clayton Co. IA 1852 census. There is also a Jerrad (Jared) Dyer on the same census b NY. The age is right to be a brother. His wife, Amanda, later wrote a letter for Cordelia's pension application stating she was present at the wedding. Cordelia had to have consent of her father because of her age, I presume. I have Cordelia's lineage back to the 17th century. She was a descendent of Thomas "The Settler" Noble. If you type in ALONSON NOBLE (Cordelia's father) on Ancestry, you find all this and lots more on a tree titled "Clark.ged".

Lewis' and Cordelia's oldest son was Charles b. Dec. 1857, who was my grandfather, so I think that you and I are second cousins once removed, if I have that right. Do you have the rest of the children and their spouses? I have most of the spouses. Lewis died Oct. 15, 1896 and is buried in Chapel Cemetery according to his death certifcate. It also states he was 77yrs, 3 months and 20 days old. I believe Cordelia died in 1901. I suspect she is living with a daughter in 1900, but have been unable to find her. Do you know who Ella or Elly married? And who is Nancy Flater (Gadd) (Whalen)? So may mysteries! Maybe together we can find Lewis previous to IA
