Hello, I am looking for any information pertaining to the Fritz QUICKENSTEDT family. In the early 1850s the Quickenstedt family came to the United States (Davenport, Iowa) to avoid being drafted. Fritz Quickenstedt was born 26 May 1833 in Holstein. He was first in the cigar trade and then owned a saloon, Unter Der Linden. Fritz married Sophia RINTLEMAN. Their children were Frederick (b. 13 May 1861), Ernest (b. 3 July 1857), August & Minnie. Brothers, Frederick and Ernest left Davenport for Texas & settled in Hillsboro, Texas in the 1890s.
