Leslie wrote, "A letter from Dr. Hunt exists in the Peter Hunt Rev. War pension file. This letter leads me to believe he may have been seeking information to entitle him to join SAR."

Leslie, Dr. Hunt is listed as a member of the Board of Managers for "Sons of the Revolution in the State of Iowa Instituted April 19, 1890."

At "page 3" of this website, the following appears:

"HUNT, Will F., B.S., M.D., Davenport, elected 1907.
Great-grandson of Private Peter Hunt. Served under Colonel Henry Livingston Lamb of New York Continental Artillery, stationed at Fort Montgomery and Fort Constitution. At burning of Esopus."
