MONTPELIER — Vera Evangeline Kunz Pugmire Knutti, 90, a lifelong resident of Bear Lake County, passed away on June 14, 2001, at the Bear Lake Memorial Nursing Home in Montpelier, Bear Lake, Idaho.

She was born March 4, 1911, in Bern, Bear Lake, Idaho, to John Kunz Jr. and Mary Schmid Kunz. She was raised in Bern and Williamsburg and went to school in Bern and Georgetown. She was one of 12 children born to John and Mary.

On Dec. 9, 1928, she married David Clifford (Billy) Pugmire in Montpelier, Idaho, and he died on March 24, 1932. She later married George Knutti on August 18, 1923, in Soda Springs, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Together, Vera and George had three children, George Ted (Sandra) of Georgetown, Idaho; Judy Ann Mills of Ketchum, Idaho; and Rosemary (Allen) Lloyd of Montpelier. George died on Sept. 1, 1978.

Vera was a Primary teacher, served in the Primary presidency on both the ward and stake level, a Relief Society teacher, worked with the youth in the Mutual and worked with the Boy Scouts. She touched the lives of many youths through the LDS Church and the 4-H program. As she got older, she didn’t feel that she had done much with her life, but there are many she touched who would assure her she did a lot. She loved being with, cooking for and feeding family and friends.

Vera is survived by her three children, nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one brother, Dan Kunz of Pocatello, Idaho, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Fiametta, Amy, Rhoda, Ireva and Bernice; five brothers, John S., Rulon (Dude), Delphin, Denzil and Melvin. She was preceded also in death by a great-grandson, John Craig Mills.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 19, 2001, at 1 p.m. in the Montpelier Fourth Ward chapel. Family will meet with relatives and friends on Monday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Burial will be in the Montpelier Idaho Cemetery.
