DINGLE - Dora Deen Humburg Sparks, 95, beloved mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt and friend, was called home to Heavenly Father on Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at the Bear Lake Skilled Care Facility in Montpelier. She was born April 20, 1908, in Dingle, Idaho, the daughter of Albert E. and Janette Quayle Humburg.
She married William G. Sparks on Oct. 6, 1926, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple for time and all eternity. Together they had two sons.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding positions in Mutual and other organizations. She worked in the kitchen at the hospital for many years. She taught others by her example of kindness and helping others whenever she could.
Dora is survived by a daughter-in-law, Thella King Sparks of Dingle; five grandchildren, LaDeen (Wayne) Wright of Pleasant View, Utah, Carol (Harold) Sparks of Dingle, Bob (Mickie) Sparks of Nounan, Idaho, Doreen (Sam) Gordon of Lakewood, Colorado, Ann (Zach) Grigsby of Boise, Idaho; 21 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, two sisters, Maythel Humburg Sparks of Montpelier, and Hazel Humburg (Forest) Closner of Boise; and one sister-in-law, Ellen Humburg of Dingle. She was preceded in death her husband, William, two sons, William Dean Sparks and Robert D. Sparks, a grandson, James Bert (Jimmy) Sparks, a great-grandson, Billy Dean Sparks, a sister, Bernetta Humburg Hanson, and three brothers, Max Humburg, Don Humburg and Ted Humburg.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 29 at 1 p.m., in the Dingle LDS Chapel, where friends may call that morning from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Burial will be in the Dingle Cemetery, with services under the direction of Matthews Mortuary of Montpelier.
