Gloria Jeane Burgoyne McRae, age 84, our beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on January 29, 2004 in Bountiful, Utah of congestive heart failure. Gloria was born on June 14, 1919 in Montpelier, Idaho to Eugene O. and Marye C. Burgoyne. She graduated from Montpelier High School and Attended Ricks College and Weber State College. She married Orson Mark McRae on April 3, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death on May 3, 1989. Gloria worked as a cashier for the IRS for over 20 years. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings, including Cub Scout Den Leader, Primary president, stake Primary Board member, Sunday School secretary, and Relief Society secretary. She served with her husband as a missionary in the New York Rochester Mission and the Idaho Boise Mission. Gloria was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and enjoyed her association with her friends. She enjoyed crochetin!
g and was proud of the beautiful Christmas stockings she made for her entire family. Gloria's happy smile and giggle, her ability to look for the good in others, and her gentle, caring was endeared her to many. She was loving and compassionate and devoted her life to her family. She considered her children and grandchildren to be her finest accomplishment. She set a life-long example of genuine kindness, patience, and love that will never be forgotten. Gloria is survived by her sons Mark (Karen) McRae and Richard (Kathryn) McRae of Bountiful; her daughter Marilyn (Jonathan) Richey of Springville; and 14 grandchildren. She was receded in death by her husband, her parents, her brothers Harold and Tom Burgoyne, and her two infant daughters, Bonnie Jean and Sherry. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 2, 2004 at 11;00 a.m. at the Bountiful 7th Ward Chapel, 1250 S. Main, Bountiful, Utah. Family and friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountif!
