The Idaho Statesman, 03/22/04
Beatrice Delores Fewens Wynn, 84, of Boise passed away Friday, March 19, 2004. At the time of her death, she was surrounded by her remaining immediate family and the caring staff of the Life Care Center of Boise. Bea, as she was most commonly known to her family and friends, was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred, her eldest son, Fred J., her eldest daughter, Sandra Williamson, and her precious great-granddaughter, Taisha. Bea was born in the small town of Dingle, in the very southwestern part of Idaho, on March 17, 1920 to George (Judd) Fewens and to Daisy Hansen Fewens. She spent her early childhood living in Salt Lake City, Utah before moving to Pocatello with her parents. Here is where she grew into young womanhood, graduating from Pocatello High School in 1938. As a single parent to her daughter Sandra, she married Fred A. Wynn on the Fourth of July, 1942 in Las Vegas, Nev. After the end of World War II, she moved back to Pocatello, now with three children, i!
ncluding Fred J. and Susan Christy. Two more children were to join the family in the following years, including Danny M. and Layne H. Here she resided until she and Fred retired and moved to Boise. Besides rearing a family of five, she became a licensed nurse, graduating from Idaho State College in one of the very first nursing classes in the schoolÕs history. She worked as a nurse at various health institutions in Pocatello for over 25 years. She always took pride and dedication to her patients and love for the work she was doing. Bea was a marvelous seamstress in creating many items of clothing for her family. Later she turned to crafts, creating a whole generation of Big Boy and Big Girl dolls for her grandchildren. She inherited the talent of art from her father and developed it through classes of art instruction. She always felt a need to help others and for many years volunteered at the Boise Senior Center. At the time of her death, Bea had 17 grandchildren and 2!
2 great-grandchildren. Bea, Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma will be mis
sed by all her family who loved her greatly. A memorial service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Fourth and Fredregill Road in Pocatello. A viewing will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Mountain View Cemetery in Pocatello, where she will be placed next to her beloved husband Fred A. Wynn. The family wishes to extend thanks to the staff at the Life Care Center on Curtis Road for the care they gave our beloved mother.
