MONTPELIER - Florence Geraldine Holland Benson, 83, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, at the Portneuf West Medical Center in Pocatello. She was born Feb. 17, 1921, in Nampa, Idaho, to George A. and Andria Alean Byrne Holland.

She married Shade J. Benson on Feb. 22, 1952, in Elko, Nevada. Shade worked for the railroad and was transferred to Montpelier in the early 1950s, and she had resided here for 50 years. Shade passed away on Oct. 16, 2003.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Geri is survived by two sisters, Thelma Averett of Bountiful, Utah, and Georgia Shipley of Pocatello; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, Nov. 6 at 3 p.m., in the Montpelier Cemetery. Friends may call at Matthews Mortuary that day from 2 p.m. until 2:45 p.m.
