Some time ago I made a request to the list if anybody knew how to find Donation Land Claims and nobody answered me so, I have found the information and maybe somebody else will enjoy finding DLC's and where they are located.

First, go to:

http:www.glorecords.blm.gov/patentSearch/

type in the name of your Donation land claim recipient...when you find the donation land claim, see where it says "Printer Friendly", click on that and print it out.

Then, go to:

http:www.esg.montana.edu/gl/index.html

and type in the Township and Range...it will take you to the legal description and the closest landmarks. There are links you can click on that will actually give you satellite pictures of the property. There are all kinds of maps so you can locate your ancestor's donation land claim.
