Payette Youth Killed Recently

Word has been received by local friends of the accidental death of Jack Francis, which occurred at Helena, Montana on Tuesday, October 13. Francis had been in training with parachute troops and it was during gunnery practice that he was fatally injured. He had been in the armed ? for a year and prior to taking parachute training he was with the ski troops in Washington. A military funeral was held at Baker, Oregon last Sunday afternoon and interment made in the veterans section of the Baker cemetery. Deceased is survived by his wife, Lodetta Francis, of Portland and three sisters, Jean McClure of Payette; Dorothy Deal of Fruitland and Marjorie Francis of Spokane, Washington, and one brother, Dick Deal, of Fruitland. Jack attended Payette schools during his residence in Payette.
