Mrs. Pittman dead at 90

GREENVIEW - Mrs. Stella Mae Pittman, aged 90 years, passed away at her
residence at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, April 20. Mrs. Pittman was born January 18, 1882,
the daughter of Robert and Louisa Goff Cantrall, near Sweetwater. She was
married to Purin Pittman in 1905. Mr. Pittman preceded her in death on July 23,
1954. They were the parents of three children, who survive: Hardy of Santa
Ana, California; Mrs. Cynthia Rodemer and Miss Gladys Pittman, both of
Greenview; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Cline of Athens; one brother, Luther Cantrall of
Sunny Acres, Petersburg; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and
several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and three
brothers.
Mrs. Pittman was a member of the Greenview United Church and the American
Legion Auxiliary.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 23 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ennis Funeral
Home. Rev. R. E. Florence, Jr. officiated. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery.
