Peter, and possibly others who are not aware of this --

The Stavanger emigrant protocols were destroyed by a fire in 1929. Some
records from around 1903 through 1925 have been reconstructed from other
sources and are available for searching in Digitalarkivet, along with
the normal protocols for 1925 through 1956.

For further information about emigration records, see the article
"Norwegian Emigration Records" by Børge Solum in the "Articles for
Newbies" section of "Norway-Heritage" (formerly the "*Solum*, *Swiggum*
& Austheim skipsregister") at http://www.norwayheritage.com/. If you
are interested in how our ancestors came across the sea and haven't
already found the "Norway-Heritage" site you ought to check it out.

Hilsen,
Robert in Texas
