Viola Seidel of Arlington Heights Funeral services for Viola Seidel (nee Holste), formerly of Mount Prospect, 88, a resident of The Lutheran Home, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at the Lutheran Home in the St. John Chapel, 800 W. Oakton, Arlington Heights.

Born Oct. 26, 1914, in Arlington Heights, she died Sunday, July 13, 2003, at The Lutheran Home. Viola was a dedicated homemaker, a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Mount Prospect Historical Society. In addition, Viola enjoyed sewing and flower gardening.

She is survived by her son, John (Sally) of St. Anne, Ill.; daughter, Madeline (Rick) Faner of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer Faner, Molly Faner, Mike Seidel and Erik (Kim) Seidel; and great-grandchild, Kaylee. Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy D.D.S.; parents, William Holste and Clara Wille; her sisters, Evelyn Hasz, Verna Busse and Lillian Simonis; and her brothers, Irvin Holste and Norbert Holste.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday, at the Lutheran Home (address above). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Lutheran World Relief, 700 Light St., Baltimore, MD 21230; or to one's favorite charity.
