German First Names from another list that may be of help to our members.....

Lotherus = Lothar = Lotharius
Gotzen = Gtz = Gottfried
Trinigen = Katharina (Trine) = Trien-tje (katharien)
Stringen = ? = from Buebchen oder buebisch ??
Entgen = Anna (nnchen)
Trintgen = Katharina (Trine)
Gertgen = Gerd = Gerard-tje = Gerardus-je
Grietgen = Margarete (Grete) = Griet-tje (meiske - little girl - Lassie)
Ermgen = Irmgard
Elsgen = Elisabeth (Else) = Elsabein-tje
Elsken = Elisabeth (Else)
Enneken = Anna (nnchen)
Engen = Anna (nnchen)
Jorgen = Jrgen = Georg

.......the -gen (or -chen) ending is a diminutive (Verkleinerung?)
and Griet is platt-Deutch fot girl
so "little girl" or "girly" becomes Griet-gen
(Grietchen or Greet-tje)
or in Netherlands: "Griet-je" the difference between
Netherlands and Platt_Deutsch is small especially in Westfalen where the
"je" ending would surely be "gen".
If they are not real names but nick-names
then Stringen is a slow-ish boy,
Entgen (ent-chen) a little duck (little girl?)
and Elsgen Els-chen a 'little dumb goose'.
