Bernard G. Pilcher of Elgin Funeral services for Bernard G. Pilcher, 94, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin. Born Sept. 28, 1907, in Milan, Mo., he peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 15, 2002, at the Carrington Care Center, South Elgin. Burial will be private in Irving Park Cemetery, Chicago. Mr. Pilcher was a member of the Elgin Bible Church where he had formerly taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and served as an elder. He is survived by his wife of almost 62 years, Selma Yarnell Pilcher, whom he married on June 28, 2002; son, David (Jean) Pilcher of Dover, Ohio; grandchildren, David (Jenna), James (Lorri) and Elizabeth; and great-grandchildren, James and Ruth. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nova and Jeanette (nee Clark) Pilcher; sons, James Yarnell Pilcher in infancy and Philip Charles Pilcher in 1990; sisters, Ruth Cook and Gayle Pilcher; and brother, Harold Pilcher. Visitation will be fr!
