Robert Grant Pierce formerly of Arlington Heights Funeral services for Robert Grant Pierce, 64, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights. Born Aug. 3, 1939, in Atlanta, Ill., the son of Arthur and Doris (nee Snook) Pierce, he passed away Thursday, Feb. 26, 2004, at St. Mary Hospital, Rochester, Minn. Interment in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

A long time resident of Arlington Heights, Bob worked in the elevator industry for over 30 years, retiring to Galena, Ill. in the fall of 2002. He was a veteran of the Army and served during the Vietnam War from 1963 through 1965. He was a member of the American Legion Merle Guild Post #208 in Arlington Heights.

Bob is survived by his wife, Joyce A. (nee Swanson), whom he married Aug. 25, 1961; his children, Dale R. Pierce of Crystal Lake, Kurt A. Pierce of Los Angeles and Wendy A. Pierce (fiance Michael Walther) of St. Louis; his grandchildren, Vanessa, DJ and Morgan; his mother, Doris Pierce; his brothers, Eugene and Edward (Darlene) Pierce; and his sister, Marietta Pierce Allen.

He was preceded in death by his father, ARTHUR Pierce. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. today, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mayo Clinic Poverello Foundation, 200 1st St. SW, Rochester, MN 55905.
