Elsie I. Hiller a lifelong resident of Wheeling Services for Elsie I. Hiller (nee Pieper), 95, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Kolssak Funeral Home, 189 S. Milwaukee Ave. (three blocks south of Dundee Road), Wheeling. Born Aug. 19, 1908, in Wheeling, she died Thursday, March 4, 2004, at Wauconda Healthcare. Burial will be in Wheeling Cemetery. Elsie was a cook and baker at Hackney's and also a babysitter. Her family owned and operated the Blacksmith Shop on Milwaukee Ave. in the early 1900s. Survivors include her nieces, Gladys Keil, Minnie Keil and Cindy Thelen; and nephew, Palmer Keil. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Hiller; her parents, August and Wilhelmina (nee Muller) Pieper; and brothers, Walter and Theodore Pieper. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the services Tuesday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
