Howard J. Winkelhake of Schaumburg Funeral services for Howard J. Winkelhake will begin with prayers at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, at Michaels Funeral Home, 800 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg. A Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Walter Church, Roselle.

Born June 27, 1947, in Elgin, he died Sunday, March 7, 2004, at Galena Hospital. Burial will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.

Howard was a retired Schaumburg Police Captain. He was the loving husband of Kay; dearest father of Todd (Hilary), Andy (Maria) and Ty Winkelhake.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Friends may visit www.dailyherald.com/obits to express condolences and sign the guest book. For funeral information, (847) 891-2900.
