Thanks, Larry, for the info you've provided and thanks to you too, Jill,
for anything further you can uncover. The pictures were lent to us by
Janice Hoffman who has Greve/Meyer connections. Here is a brief
description of each photo:
1. Herman Troyke and child at his blacksmith shop in Roselle. (He was
a Schaumburg Twp. Resident.)
2. Four cousins (Troyke, Orton, Heide and Volkening) on the steps of
the Sunderlage farmhouse.
3. Lanora Troyke sitting on a stool.
4. Funeral flowers for Lanora Troyke with an inset of her picture.
5. Casket holding the body of Victor and Lanora Troyke.
Both children in 4 and 5 are buried at St. Peter's. Lanora's character
was brought to life during the most recent Schaumburg Township
Historical Society Cemetery Walk. The script can be read on the Local
History Digital Archive at www.stdl.org. It is in the Documents section
under "Cemetery Walk 2005 by Schaumburg Township Historical Society."
Take a look if you get a chance.
I'll let you know when the pictures are available.
