I am looking for some kind of city directory or business directory for Tamms
in the 1890s and early 1900s. I have heard a story that August Franke Sr.
moved to Tamms and opened a story in the mid 1890s. I know he lived in
Sandusky Precinct (ED 12, page 2) and reported himself to be a farmer in the
1900 Census.

Were business licenses required? Anyone have any ideas?
