That is a good point Kathy, if this is the cemetery book on Alexander County I am thinking of (from 1976 I believe?) my Great-Uncle Bud Rouse assisted with it, and they only recorded graves that had tombstones. So if your ancestor was buried without a tombstone or if the tombstone was missing or unreadable, they would not appear in this book.
