Many who came to Bond and surrounding counties traveled the "Cumberland
Road". In fact whole groups traveled together. People from one area of PA
moved on to OH, then to IN and then to IL. Knowing the roads they may have
traveled helps you decide where to search. Get a good book on migration
trails. Also Animap has a great program that will help you on county
formations as well as the LDS FHC site has a write up on each state showing
county formation dates and which counties were split.

it would not be unheard of to discuss even other states, as people who have
down through the came to and moved out of Bond and surrounding counties
leaving parents or even grown children there, then extending the families
more once they arrived to where they moved to. genealogical research will
sometimes lead you to other countries , I am back to 1600th century Europe
right now, and I started in St. Clair County Illinois, 1929.
