Dear Ann,
I don't know how helpful it is, but Alexander McKinsey, b. 1760-70,
appears in Walter R. Sander's "Settlers in Montgomery County, Ill. Before
1840". Mr. Sanders must have found him on an early census in Montgomery Co.
because of the range he gives for his birth.

a different state for her birthplace. At the bond Co. site he is listed as
McKinney on that census, but if you read the actual image it is clearly
McKinsey. Living next to Blair, Coffey, and Becks.Does anyone recognize
this individual.? I remember some mention of him in connection with the
