Sinta,
I've had great success with asking public libraries for obits. I just google for the webpage of the local public library in the place the person died. Most now have an email address to contact the library, and some have this sort of research task listed on their webpage, with the charge, etc. I write and ask if they have a newspaper archive; if they do obit searches; what the fee would be; and if not, where I should look for this service in their area. Usually there is little or no charge, and the staff people are great to work with. More and more newspaper archives are available on-line too, at Ancestry.com and through Godfrey.org. Good luck!

I am looking for more information regarding an Enrico GASKINS from Bond
County, IL. I know he was a county clerk and ultimately a county judge. I
know he died Feb 18, 1879 in Greenville. I know there was a small obituary
in the Greenville Advocate on February 20th of 1879 in which the paper
called for someone to write a "lengthy obituary." What I don't know is
anyone ever did. I haven't been able to locate one.
Is there anyone who is able to search for such an obituary?
Many thanks!
