Will get back to this discussion after the holidays. My grandfather and
great-grandfather, etc., were miners in Illinois at the same time period.
Mines at Braceville, Cherry, -- they lived in Spring Valley, Ladd, Peru and
other places. My dad born in Kincaid in 1920, then they came to Detroit.

Family names: TINTORI, PARROCHETTI, GALLETTI. My grandfather survived the
Cherry Mine Disaster of 1909, Galletti cousins died in Braceville accident
and at Cherry Disaster. Cherry was north of Peru, three miles from Ladd.

There are some links I have found, nothing real specific with names, etc.,
but can give you an idea of what life was like for them. I am researching,
too -- let me know if these work. The Illinois one, keep clicking on the
arrows at the bottom of each page -- they have maps of where the mines were
located, the towns, etc. It's a good site.

I'd like to be included in any discussions on this subject, both on and off
the list!! Thanks and Happy Holidays.
