Dear Martha:

I am an officer of the Clay Co. Gen. Society. We have a file for obituaries and are always glad to receive them. If a descendant wants the original we would gladly accept a copy for our notebooks. As for the funeral program, we also have notebooks to preserve these. Again, a copy of the information would suffice also.

I was recently given a small box containing an obituary for George Quakenbush (b. May 29, 1878, d. Apr 17, 1973) who lived in the Bible Grove area. Also in the box were funeral home handouts for Eva Quakenbush (b. June 6, 1878, d. March 23, 1971) and Della King ( b. Feb. 6, 1886, d. Jan 4 1974) and a number of cards taken from flowers from a funeral. All the funerals were from the Neal Funeral Home in Louisville, IL.

I would gladly send these items to someone who has an interest in the families or a genealogical/historical group in the area. I will stay subscribed to the list for a month, so you can reply either to the list or to me privately.
