Subject: [ILCLINTO] looking for help deciphering a name on 1920 census
Date: Sun, 12 Sep 1999 10:22:09 -0400
I have run into several problems transcribing the census in
deciphering the handwriting and battling the film condition.
In most cases, I can either figure out the name or it is
impossible. I have run into one family where I can ALMOST
figure out the names but I don't want to make a guess.
Is anyone researching the Eilers family? I am looking for
a first name list of the children of Frank and Cristeen
Eilers (transcribers' spelling) who lived in Breese township
in 1920. There are 8 children, some of whom are named
Fransis, Edward, Joseph, Mary, Catherin, ???
If anyone can help, I would appreciate it. The Eilers family
just had the misfortune to be on a bad section of film and
combined with the handwriting, it is difficult to make out
some of the letters.
I appreciate any help.
