Subject: [ILCLINTO] Happy Park Worm
Date: Thu, 9 Mar 2000 22:14:13 -0600
Please excuse this non-genealogical intrusion.
The newest worm, HappyPark.exe has been making its rounds. It acts
similarly to the Happy99.exe worm, although the current HappyPark is a
little more malicious - it apparently tries to connect to an IRC server and
allows personal data to be transmitted out - including one's address, your
icq data, etc.
I suggest that should you see the name HappyPark.exe on an e-mail that you
delete it immediately. Should you think you might be infected, please go to
either Symantec's web page or the McAfee's web page to learn how to rid
yourself of this worm. Symantec's page also gives a very good description
of what actions the worm takes. http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/index.html
