This came from another list to which I belong. I've looked at the site and
it is INCREDIBLE! (Note to AOL users .. you cannot use the AOL browser to
view these maps ... but while on AOL you can open Explorer (or Netscape) and
view them. It takes awhile to load, but it's well worth the wait:

"A number of people have been looking for antique maps. The David Rumsey
collection is now on line which has maps of Prussia in the 1800's and other
European countries.
David Rumsey has made his personal map collection available for free on the
internet.  The software he uses has a zoom feature which lets you explore any
area on each of the maps that you have interest in.

The collection also has old maps of many of the US states which show early
communities. This collection is highly recommended.
