I went to the courthouse to request a copy of my grandmother's marriage certificate. I saw a copy about four years ago, but I didn't know I wanted it then, and when I looked for it again, it was no where to be found. So I went to the courthouse in Carlyle to get another copy ( which was a three day trip for me). She was married on Jan 3, 1933 in Carlyle, IL. The courthouse said that they had no record of it. What can I do? Has anyone run across this before? She was Esther Vivian Hamilton b. Dec.14, 1913 (went by Vivian) and he was Frank Earl Fowler and I know nothing about him, which is why I am so anxious to get a copy of the certificate. Thanks, Donna DAvis
