O. F. Bussard Injured
While cleaning his 32 caliber revolver Sunday, O. F. Bussard suffered a wound in his right thumb , the weapon being accidentally discharged , the bullet entering his thumb just below the first joint. The wound was given prompt medical and while the injured member will be out of commission for several weeks, it is hoped no permanent injury will result. Dec. 13, 1906
Boarding house
Miss Jennie Hulse and three of her brothers and sisters who have been visiting with their parents near Bloomfield Indiana, returned home Sat., while Charles arrived here Sunday. Mr and Mrs. Hulse are now located 9 miles east of Bloomfield, where Mrs. Hulse is operating a boarding house while Mort is still employed by the Indianapolis Southern. The children will make their home here with their grandmother, Mrs. Amanda Beam during the winter..
News Notes: Charlie Seaney and wife attended the funeral of the latter’s cousin, James Gaines, at the Fuller cemetery Tuesday of last week.
Married–last Thursday at 4 p.m. at the home of Rev. Ed Fuller, Mr. Chalmer Seaney of Morea and Miss May Kent of Van Houten. We extend congratulations to them. Dec. 13, 1906 Reporter
When Harry Garrard got up Monday morning, he found that his horses were holding up the roof of his stable, which had fallen in on them , none of them were injured save a few slight scratches.
Illinois News Note: William Palmer, prominent in secret society circles and a well known citizen of Bloomington Illinois attended the funeral of his old comrade, R. S. McIntire, the other day and since been missing. Dec. 27 1906 Palestine Reporter.
Twelve young gentlemen enjoyed a stag party in the Mrs. J. L. Woodworth summer kitchen before the fireplace Christmas Evening. Oysters, egg sandwiches, pickles, and cheese were the principal refreshments. Chas. Condrey narrated a “ True Happening” entitled “Big Claus and Little Claus” which was greatly appreciated by his auditors. Gury and Buren Mills, Ralph Hawkins, and Irl Ransom.
Mrs. and Mr. Ed S. Dry of the prairie are rejoicing over the arrival of a girl baby at their home Friday last. Dec. 27, 1906 Palestine Reporter
