Subject: 4th & story from my 2nd greatgrand father
Date: Fri, 30 Jun 2000 18:15:31 -0700 (PDT)

On this 4th of July I would line to honor my great
great grandfather John Henry Conrad/Coonrod that
served with Company G, 38th Illinois Volunteer
Infantry

He did an article for the newspaper in 1907 telling
about his civil war experience. It's posted on IL
USGEN WEB the URL is

http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilcivilw/scrapbk/conradarticle.html

He was taken prisoner and spent time at Pemberton,
Danville and Andersonville.

It's his story in his own words and I am proud to be a
decedent of such a good man.
