Pat,

One of my Vogt ancestors, Jabob - who was my GG grandmother's brother - died in El Dorado in White Oak Township on June 4, 1862. He had traveled there with his brother-in-law Jabob Yost, who had married Mary Magdalene Vogt. I found this tidbit of information in Jacaob Vogt's father's probate record at the Wheaton courthouse.

I have never been able to loacte any further information on Jacob Vogt, but I always assumed he had gone west to seek his fortune in the mines of California.
