You state that John W. BLACKARD was born 16 Mar 1848 at Ft. Branch,
Gibson Co., IN and died 20 Apr 1898 at Albion, Edwards Co., IL; and
wanted to know his place of burial.

John BLACKARD was buried in the Old Albion Cemetery on 21 Apr 1898. He
died of pneumonia; complications: chronic inflamation of liver, 5 days.

His grave marker indicates he served with two Civil War groups: Co. H
143 Ind. Vol; Co. E 9 U.S. Inf;

Buried next to him is Joseph BLACKARD, Co. E 9 U.S. Inf. [no dates on
marker].

Do you need information on Abigail SCHOFIELD BLACKARD, wife of John
BLACKARD?
