Yes, German Catholics were in Edwards County. In our family, they lived in
Grayville. Very early, they went to Mt. Carmel to attend church but later
on there was a Catholic church nearby. You can get the info from the
Diocese in southern Illinois or Google Catholic Diocese or go into the IRAD
system where I believe there is a link. I have the address if you need it.
