Hello, Jerry. Thank you for the response. According to the
deed index the Lapes who purchased land were Henry, Samuel,
Daniel, Sophia, John W., and Catherine. Dates of purchase
ranged from 1851-1874.
The Lape family from Ohio moved to Illinois around 1961-2,
settled in Marion Co.There Nicholas J. Lape died in 1865.
I'm unable to find a burial for him, His wife was Elizabeth
Rogers Lape. Since he had nine brothers and sisters( I have
no names) I thought perhaps the Fayette Co. Lapes might be
related.
