ARLEY TERRY
Arley TERRY 75, of Mt. Vernon died 7:48 p.m. Aug. 12, 1998, at Good
Samaritan Regional Health Center.
He was a retired truck driver and was employed at Baldridge Concrete for
many years.
Mr. TERRY was born Jan. 26, 1923, in Naylor, Mo., a son of Jim and Nora
(ADAMS) TERRY. Sept. 7, 1947, in Piggott, Ark., he married Gladys Marie
SELLERS, who survives.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Bethel Memorial Cemetery
with Pastor Steven EDWARDS officiating. Per request of Mr. TERRY, no public
visitation will be held and those attending the graveside services are
asked to go directly to the cemetery on Saturday morning.
Mr. Terry is survived by his wife, Gladys Marie TERRY of Mt. Vernon; one
son, Danny G. TERRY of Carbondale; two daughters, Norma CRENSHAW and
husband
Ronnie of Channahon and Carolyn TATE and husband of Mt. Vernon; nine
grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lloyd TERRY and
wife Helen of Clarksville, Ark., Harvey TERRY of Aurora, Mo., and Arvel
TERRY and wife Rita of Naylor, Mo.; two sisters, Sarah IVY of Gallion, Ohio
and Captolia PENNINGTON and husband Lloyd of Valley Center, Kansas; and
several nieces and nephews including, Jim TERRY, Mike TERRY, Winford
SELLERS and Sandy JOHNSON, all who were raised in the TERRY home.
Mr. TERRY was preceded in death by his parents; ;one son, Charles Lee
TERRY; two sisters; and two brothers.
He was a member of Calvary United Pentecostal Church. He was an Army
veteran of World War II.
For those who wish memorials may be made to the Jefferson County Heart
Fund and will be accepted by the Hughey Funeral Home.
Family and friends may call the Hughey Funeral Home at 242-3348 for
obituary information 24 hours a day.

MILDRED ROBERTSON
Mildred ROBERTSON, 87, of Mt. Vernon, formerly of Herrin, died 12:50
p.m. Aug. 7, 1998, at Nature Trail Health Care Center, Mt. Vernon.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. ROBERTSON was born Dec. 20, 1910, in Murphysboro, a daughter of Sam
and Rena (MILLER) MARTIN. Feb. 19, 1929, she married Laverne ROBERTSON, in
South Bend, Ind., who died April 22, 1987.
Services were to be 1:30 p.m. today at the Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home
with the Rev. Brad HARLOW officiating. Burial was to be in Oakwood
Cemetery, Carterville.
Mrs. ROBERTSON is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Jean and
Harry STOUT of Herrin; grandchildren, April Lynn and husband Benny
McCormick of Mt. Vernon and Martin HARRY and Cynthia YATES of Herrin; eight
great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Francis
MASSEY of Port Charlotte, Fla.; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. ROBERTSON was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one
daughter, Gloria VINSON; one grandchild, Silver YOUNG; five brothers; and
two sisters.
She was a member of Second Baptist Church, Herrin and taught Sunday
School for more than 40 years. She was a past Noble Grand of the Rebecca
Lodge and a member of Eastern Star.
