Dorothy Briley Pickard
Thompsonville

Dorothy Brily Pickard, 72, died at 12:30 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2001,
at her daughter's home in Gallatia.

Graveside services will be at 11: a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2001 at the
Knob Prairie Cemetery, with Rev. David Schlag officiating. Visitation
will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home,
Benton.

Mrs. Pickard was born Jun 11, 1928 in Franklin County, the daughter of
Wesley and Daisy (Edwards) Briley. She married Evan Akin Pickard and he
survives.

She was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church,
Thompsonville. She was also a member of the Macedonia Order of the
Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, West Frankfort Area
Genealogical Society , and the Southen Illinois Genealogical Society.

In addition to her husband, Evan, she is survived by two daughters,
Wesla and husband Terry Tennant, Benton, Karen ad husband Jerry Vinyard,
Galatia; five granddaughters, Janae, Keri, Rebekah and Leigh Ann Tennant
and Jessica Vinyard; a sister, Mildred and husband H D Hicks, Lovington;
several neices and nephews.

Mrs. Pickard was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Vera
Nell Pickard.

Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice or the Knob Prairie
Cemetery Fund.
