IVA UJKA
Iva Marcella UJKA, 95, of Pinckneyville, formerly of St. Louis died
2:15 p.m. April 12, 2001, at Pinckneyville Community Hospital.
She attended schools in Scheller and Mt. Vernon. She worked for some
time in St. Louis.
Mrs. UJKA was born Sept. 2, 1905, in Scheller to Isaac and Lena
(NEWBERRY) QUINN. She married Anton UJKA of St. Louis March 19, 1936,
and their marriage of 46 years was spent there; he died April 4, 1982.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at Pyatt-Harrawood
Funeral Home in Pinckneyville. The Rev. James BUSH will officiate.
Burial will be at Knob Prairie Cemetery in Waltonville.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of service on Monday at the
funeral home.
She is survived by three sisters, Lois MINTON and husband Cletes of
Pinckneyville, Hattie MABRY of Collinsville and Ruth FAGON of Alton and
several nieces and nephews.
In addition (to) her husband, she was preceded in death by her
parents; three brothers, Glen QUINN of St. Louis, Joe QUINN of Mt.
Vernon and Ralph QUINN of Monterey, Calif.
Memorial contributions may be made to Perry County Hospice or the
American Diabetes Association.
