Subject: BROOKS and ALLEN families in Franklin and Jefferson Co. abt 1850
Date: Sat, 8 Sep 2001 09:49:31 -0400

While doing a line by line pass through the 1850 census images
for Jefferson
Co., Illinois, I ran across the Nathan T BROOKS family. Since I
had 4 of the
boys in my data already, each married to an ALLEN girl who was
from Franklin Co.
at that time, but they were in my file unconnected, I thought I
should point out
to those interested that they were brothers.

The Federal Census, 1850, District No. 10, Jefferson Co.,
Illinois, pages 384a &
385, list:
1144/1144 Nathan T. Brooks 44 M Laborer $120 Ky.
Jane Brooks 45 F Ky.
Willis C. Brooks 20 M Laborer Ky.
Stanton J. Brooks 18 M Laborer Ky.
George W. Brooks 15 M Laborer Ill.
Robert M. Brooks 13 M (twin) Ky.
Martha M./W.(?) Brooks 13 F (twin) Ky.
