WAGGONER

The Rev. Geroge W. and Aileen (BAIN) WAGGONER of Mt. Vernon will celebrate
their 59th wedding anniversary Saturday. They were married June 1, 1944, at
the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray BAIN of Mt. Vernon. The Waggoners
have four children, Mark, Linda (Mrs. Doug McMAHAN) of Mt. Vernon, Van
(Shirley) of Dubuque, Iowa, and Janet of Carbondale; six grandchildren, Adam
and Amanda (adopted from Korea) and Rachel WAGGONER of Dubuque, Iowa, Ashley
and Melissa McMAHAN of Mt. Vernon, and Stephanie WAGGONER (adopted from
China) of Carbondale; and a great-granddaughter, Aalya of Dubuque.

Relatives and friends are invited to an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday
at First Free Will Baptist Church, 2610 Logan St. The family says cards
would be appreciated but asks that gifts be omitted. Mrs. WAGGONER is a
graduate of Mt. Vernon Township High School and attended Free Will Baptist
Bible College, Nashville, Tenn. Mr. WAGGONER is a graduate of Free Will
Baptist Bible College; Columbia Bible College, Columbia, S.C.; McKendree
College; and the University of Illinois. He retired in 1982 from Mt. Vernon
High School. Mr. WAGGONER is an ordained minister (1942) and has pastored
churches at Bakerville, Pleasant View (Dix), Salem (Bluford) and the First
Free Will Baptist Church, Mt. Vernon. After retirement, he spent 10 years
teaching a large adult Sunday school class at the church.
