WILMA N. BOWERS
Wilma N. BOWERS, 87, of Dekalb and formerly of McLeansboro died 6:42 p.m.
Dec. 2, 2003, at Kishwaukee Hospital in Dekalb. She was a homemaker and
cared for many children. Mrs. BOWERS was born Oct. 8, 1916, in Hamilton
County to Claude and Irene (PRINCE) MARTIN. She married Virgil E. BOWERS; he
is deceased. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Gholson
Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Maxine BRAKE will officiate. Burial will follow
at Hopewell Cemetery in McLeansboro. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Saturday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.

Mrs. BOWERS is survived by two daughters, Ima Jean HUNT and husband Gerald
of Rochelle and Wilma Fay WATSON and husband Bob of Bluford; grandchildren
Debra LANG and husband Roger, Stacy WHITAKER and husband Joe, Gerald R. HUNT
Jr., Michael R. PLUISTER and Donna THOMAS; great-grandchildren Niki and Ryan
WHITAKER, Jessica and Mason LANG, Samantha THOMAS and Courtney LYNN, all of
the Dekalb/Rochelle area; brothers and sisters Harley MARTIN of Fairbury,
Evalee CLARK of Opdyke and Alice TAYLOR of Rochell; and many nieces and
nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three
brothers, Ancel, Robert and Gilbert MARTIN; and a sister, Eathel MARTIN
THOMPSON. Mrs. BOWERS was a member of Dekalb Church of God. For more
