BERTHOL B. McBRIDE
Berthol B. McBRIDE of Bay Point, Calif., and Loxahatchee, Fla., died March
11, 2004, at Woodlake Hospital, West Palm Beach, Fla. He was born Feb. 13,
1928, in Sesser, a son of Ethna S. and Myrtle (WHITLOW) McBRIDE. Mr. McBRIDE
is survived by two sons, Roger and wife Sherrie and James and wife Peggy;
four grandchildren, Keeley, Kevin, Kerri Shay and Daniel, all of Bay Point,
Calif.; a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Roy BROWN of Mt. Vernon; a
brother-in-law, Claude LEWIS of Longwood, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Anneleore
McBRIDE of Salem, Ore.; nephews Keith BROWN, Ross BROWN and Mony BROWN, all
of Mt. Vernon, Wolfgang McBRIDE of Salem, Ore.; and nieces Cristi BROWN and
Rorie PALMER of Mt. Vernon, Sheila MILLER of Longwood, Fla., and Ingrid
SCOTT and Terry WELCH of Salem, Ore.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Wayne McBRIDE; a
sister, Phyllis LEWIS; and a nephew, Berthol McBRIDE. Mr. McBRIDE retired
from the Army after 20 years in 1969 after serving in the 82nd and 101st
Airborne Division. After leaving the military he sold real estate in the
Oakland, Calif., area for several years. He was an avid reader and traveled
extensively, visiting all the states and military museums and stopping at
military bases and national points of interest. A memorial service will be
conducted April 3 in Florida and then his remains will be taken to Fort Ord,
Calif., in keeping with his request.
