page 98:
October 1892: Your oratrix, Martha E BOND, a resident of the County
of Franklin and State of Illinois would respectfully respresent unto
your Honor that she has been a resident of Illinois for more than two
years. That on 24 December 1882 she was lawfully married to one
George W BOND at Franklin County, IL. That during all the time
aforesaid your petitioner conducted herself as a kind, loving
and affectionate wife. That they continued to live together until
5 April 1884 when he deserted her. That she has had two children by said
marriage, Effie, 9, and Rufus BOND, 7, of whom she asks custody. That
since he has left, George has contributed nothing towards their
support. May it please your honor to order that the bonds of
matrimony now existing between your oratrix and the said
George be dissolved and grant unto your oratrix such other relief in the
presmises as your Honor may seem fit.
