HAZEL THOMAS SANDERS

Hazel THOMAS SANDERS, 86, of Benton died at 9 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004, at
the Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Private graveside services
will be held Wednesday, Oct. 20, at the Masonic & Oddfellows Cemetery in
Benton. The Morton & Johnston Funeral Home in Benton is in charge of
arrangements. Hazel was born Aug. 27, 1918, in Benton, the daughter of Louis
and Gertrude (REED) VAUGH . In October of 1933, Hazel married Frank THOMAS,
who preceded her in death. She then married Lee HOLMAN, who also preceded
her in death, and Russell SANDERS, who also preceded her in death. She was a
member of the East Benton Baptist Church.

Hazel is survived by two sons, Terry L. THOMAS and wife, Mary Lou, of
Benton, and Val THOMAS of Arlee, Mont.; 13 grandchildren, Dean THOMAS, Mark
THOMAS, Terry THOMAS, Monte THOMAS, Darren THOMAS, Kevin THOMAS, Dawn
SWINNEY, April ZIMMER, Adam THOMAS, Aaron THOMAS, Todd THOMAS, Tera KELLER
and Lynne STEIBEL; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by
her parents, her husbands, one son, Gary L. THOMAS; one daughter, Glenda
STIEBEL; one brother, Thomas VAUGHN; and two half-brothers, Luther and
Cletis COREY.
