JAMES L. "JIM" BIBY
James L. (Jim) BIBY, of Mulkeytown passed away Sunday morning, Jan. 9, 2005,
at the Farrell Hospital in Eldorado. Services will be held at 1 p.m.
Thursday, Jan. 13, at Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher, with Brother Kurt
JENSEN and the Rev. Dean GUYMOND officiating. Burial will be in the
Mulkeytown Cemetery in Mulkeytown. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Wednesday
to the funeral home. He was born April 5, 1928, in Royalton, the son of Guy
and Audella (EISENHAUER) BIBY. He married Norma Jean (HERTEL) on March 11,
1950, in Mulkeytown, where he spent most of his adult life.

Jim worked at the Norge plant in Herrin, retiring in 1990 after 37 years. He
also, along with his wife, managed the Mulkeytown Water District for 29
years from its inception, retiring in 2004. From 1973 through 1997, he
served Tyrone Township as a trustee and clerk. Except for his family, his
greatest pride was the "home in the woods" he and his wife conceived and
built and where they spent many happy years. He was a member of the
Mulkeytown Christian Church. Survivors include three sons and their wives,
Alan and Audrey (HANDKINS) BIBY, and David and Paula (ISSLER) BIBY of
Mulkeytown, and Brian and Kathy (DESTEFANO) BIBY of Portage, Ind.;
grandchildren, William BIBY of Mulkeytown, and Daniel BIBY and Michelle
AHFELD of Portage, Ind.; and a sister, Alice LUNDBLAD of Mulkeytown.
Preceding him in death were his wife, parents, one sister, Laura Jean
BARTELS, and infant brother, Robert.
