Barbara, continuing to send queries as you are may some day turn up
something unexpected.

I heard from a distant cousin who knew someone else - who had letters that
had been written about my ancestor! Also, found out that my ancestor had
kept a journal! We are now trying to trace "where" that journal could be.
Sad, but some people who aren't into genealogy won't share anything with you
for what ever reason. Good luck - and don't give up hope.
